Specialized Technique

Massage Cupping

An ancient technique reimagined for modern therapeutic use — silicone cups create negative pressure to lift tissue, release fascial restrictions, and improve circulation.

What is Massage Cupping?

Unlike traditional cupping, massage cupping uses flexible silicone cups that glide across the skin while maintaining suction. This lifting action decompresses the tissue beneath — releasing tight fascia, improving blood flow, and supporting lymphatic drainage.

Cathy is a Certified Massage Cupping Practitioner, trained in the proper application of this technique for therapeutic benefit.

Cathy will briefly check in about your goals and any areas of tension or sensitivity before beginning. You’ll be fully draped throughout — only the area being worked is uncovered. Communication is encouraged throughout the session.

Massage cupping may leave temporary redness or circular marks in areas of stagnation — this is a normal response and typically fades within 1–3 days. Cathy will discuss what to expect before incorporating cupping into your session.

Absolutely. Massage pairs well with IV therapy, weight loss programs, and aesthetic treatments. Many patients schedule massage as part of a broader wellness routine at NPS.
